Transition to Canvas

Updated Migration Plan

With the support of the Canvas Implementation Project's Steering Committee, we have decided to complete the Canvas transition by fall 2021. We believe that Canvas is a more robust teaching tool and that it better integrates with the digital teaching tools faculty have come to rely on. In the fall of 2020, about 40% of courses are already being taught on Canvas. A detailed migration plan can be found in the Updated Migration Plan to Canvas

The decision to move to Canvas was made collaboratively by a team from the Office of the Dean of the College, the McGraw Center for Teaching and Learning, the Office of Information Technology, and the University Library. In making our decision, we relied greatly on the input of faculty, staff, and students. Given the central role the LMS plays in teaching and learning at Princeton, the Canvas Implementation Project will be led by the McGraw Center.
